Event Description: “The Virgin Islands Literary Festival and Book Fair officially opens on Friday, March 27 with a keynote address by award winning local author Tiphanie Yanique. After a day of enlightening workshops at the Albert Sheen Campus of UVI, guests will head west to the Caribbean Museum Center for the Arts for the Book Bacchanal! This spectacular event begins at 4 p.m. and features book sales, book signings, vendors, performances by Music in Motion Dance Academy, Ay-Ay Cultural Dancers, with music by Central High School Jazz Ensemble, Kent Moorehead, Demitri Copemann and other local musicians. Then, at 5 p.m., there will be a Poetry and Prose Improvisational Response to Art where attendees will perform open mic after being inspired by art at the museum. At 6 p.m., Sharon Millar, author of “The Whale House and Other Stories,” and Joanne Hillhouse, author of “Musical Youth,” will launch their latest books.
