About the Artist: "When Charles seized the opportunity to move to Bermuda and join the Menuhin Foundation, he had no idea how hooked he would become on watercolour painting. He had joined Bermuda’s Plein Air group by his first weekend on the island and keeps the awful painting he produced that day as a reminder. Charles owes his training to the many legendary Bermudian painters who have encouraged and helped him, in particular Chris Marson. Brought up in the Far East, his paintings date back to his days at ‘Little Peak School’, Hong Kong, aged 4. After studying violin at the Royal College of Music, his first post was in a Bavarian opera orchestra. Later he moved into music education and in addition to his work in Bermuda, he works each year with young musicians in France, UK, and China. In recent years his paintings have gone to public and private collections in Bermuda, Hong Kong, UK, and US. He has attended courses at the St Ives School of Painting, Ruskin School of Art, Oxford, and with Alvaro Castagnet in San Fransisco. His recent discovery of Andrew Wyeth’s paintings has taken him on expeditions to Chadds Ford and the Maine coastline. (Biography taken from Plein Air Bermuda website) ..."Read more: Bermuda Masterworks Museum and Bermuda Masterworks-Facebook
